Sunday Evening 6pm Service: 29 March 2020

Welcome to our online evening service!

If you are having difficulty with the videos below you can try this Youtube link to get the main part of the service and the sermon.

As we come before our great and glorious God who is worthy of all our praise, consider these words from Psalm 86:

Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours. All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name. For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.”

psalm 86:8-10 (NIV 84)

No matter who we are or what we have done, if we cry out to God for mercy through Jesus Christ his Son, he will answer. When we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just and forgives us. You may wish to use this part of Psalm 86 to help you to pray:

You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you. Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.

psalm 86:5-6 (NIV 84)

Reflecting on God’s goodness to you, consider these words of assurance from that same Psalm:

I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave.

psalm 86:12-13 (NIV 84)

Spend a few moments in prayer for our world, the church and those you know who are in need. You may wish to use the email newsletter for prayer pointers.

As we come to God’s Word as it is read out and preached, let’s use the words of Psalm 86 as a prayer to prepare our hearts:

Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.

psalm 86:11 (NIV 84)
Bible reading and sermon from John 15:1-17

Let’s close with the benediction from 2 Corinthians:

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

2 Corinthians 13:14 (NIV 84)
