The beginning of the year is a great time to think about picking up a Bible reading plan, and The Bible Project has a great one year plan that you can download as a PDF, or even better, as an app for your smartphone or tablet. The app comes with various functions like setting a reminder for you to read each day, and to catch you up if you fall behind in the readings. There’s also a short video for each biblical book that helps you to understand it’s design and message and what to look for when you read it. The main website also has a blog that coincides with the readings each week and will discuss various theological questions raised in the current book being read.
I’ve been using it since the beginning of the year (yes, I know, that’s only four days so far) and it’s really nicely laid out and easy to read. There are no verses indicated in the ESV text, making it easier to read, and each day is paired with a Psalm. It’s not too late to start, so why not make it your ambition this year to read through the Bible?
